Starting Locations

There are a number of Starting Locations available for new characters in the world of Warj'Arune.

If you wish to start in a larger city, you have two choices, depending upon your character's race and possibly alignment:

  • Sartarus, the capital of the Kingdom of Sartii, is located on the western coast of the main continent. This is a suitable starting location for characters of Good or Neutral alignments, or characters who are secretly Evil. Halflings and members of the traditionally Evil races, as well as other overtly Evil characters, would be attacked if they were recognized as such.
  • Ravannah, the capital city of the secessionist country by the same name, is located on the southern coast of the main continent. This is a suitable starting location for characters of a Neutral or Evil alignment, or those of a Good alignment who are not too public about it. Elves (other than Drow), Dwarves (other than Duergar) and Gnomes are not welcome in Ravannah, since the nation is allied with their natural enemies, and they will be attacked if recognized.

For those who wish to start in a smaller town, there are two other choices available, though the last one is rather restricted:

  • Rudik's Pass is a small mining community located in a mountain pass by the same name, roughly in the middle of the main continent. Similar to Sartarus, this is a suitable starting location for characters of a Good or Neutral alignment, or characters who are not overtly Evil and are not Halflings or members of a traditionally Evil race.
  • Morga-Arborathras is a Drow-controlled town in the Underdark, buried beneath the tunnels of the Great Desert. This is a suitable starting location for members of the Underdark races ONLY (Drow, Duergar and Minotaurs), as non-Underdark creatures will be attacked on sight, regardless of alignment, faith or profession.
