Rival to Ehlonna, and patron god of Druids, Obad-Hai is the ruler of nature and wilderness. He rewards all those who live in harmony with nature, but encourages his followers to enact swift vengeance upon those who would disturb the wilderness. He teaches that all things in nature are to be respected, even those things that are ugly or dangerous, because they are a part of the natural order.
Clerics of Obad-Hai favor russet-colored clothing and maintain no hierarchy within their clergy. They are considered by most to be eco-terrorists, as they punish those who go against the natural order when their protection of nature falls short. Temples to Obad-Hai are usually located in hidden groves deep in the woods, far from civilization, and tend to house as many Druids among their numbers as Clerics.
Since temples to Obad-Hai and his Clerics are so far removed from society, they have very little influence in politics… in a conventional sense. Clerics to Obad-Hai have been known to change the plans of many a city bent on woodland expansion; typically the citizens end up far more concerned for their own safety than for nature in these situations.
