Boccob, God of magic, is an aloof and uncaring deity, without many followers, but this does not seem to bother him. He cares only for the magic, teaching his followers that it is the most important force, taking precedence over an individual’s personal agenda, over good and evil. As such, his followers live in an unending pursuit of magic and information while also assuring a balance of the forces of the world, trying to make sure that neither good nor evil nor law or chaos overbalances any other.

Clerics of Boccob usually wear purple robes with golden trim, and are almost always arcane spellcasters as well as divine followers. They remain separated from affairs in the world, interfering only in maintenance of balance. The clergy of Boccob are some of the foremost creators of magical items, which they are more than willing to sell to whoever has the money to buy them; temples of Boccob sell magical items to both the kingdoms of Sartii and Ravanah at the same time. Temples to Boccob are found most often in urban areas and maintain elaborate libraries and scrying devices.

The clergy of Boccob have little to do with politics of any kind. They prefer to stay within their walls, studying their magic. The magic items created by temples of Boccob have an effect upon the local economy, but the Clerics do not care whether it is good or bad.
